Speech Therapy works best when children are relaxed and content. This tends to be when they are at home or in an environment they know well such as school.
With this in mind, we work closely with parents, siblings, grandparents, teachers and teaching assistants to support and develop communication in the places it happens - home and school!
Assessment
The first time we meet your child, we will be observing and discovering their character and needs whilst building rapport with them.
Putting children at ease is key to the success of the programme and we are well-honed in this!
All assessment and intervention takes place in the comfort of your home or education setting.
One to One Therapy
One to one therapy sessions are the perfect opportunity to work closely with your child and to hone and develop techniques that work best for them.

In these sessions, we teach and
practice new techniques to develop
your child’s speech and language skills. The targets for these sessions will always be discussed and agreed
with you before the
sessions commence.
Group Training
We believe in empowering people with the skills and knowledge to support children with speech therapy needs. We can support parents, carers and education staff with bespoke training to meet their needs. I am pleased to be offering group training sessions such as Sign Language which will help with the work we do on a one to one basis.
Schools / Nurseries
We are able to work with schools and nurseries on a contract basis and am happy to compliment and advise the staff within each setting. As part of the one to one therapy sessions completed at home, one to one sessions in schools and nurseries can also be offered.

About us...
April Cottage Therapies has been running since 2018 to provide speech and language therapy to pre-school and school aged children with a wide range of needs. We have recently grown our team to offer our ‘Chatty Chops’ preschool service. This includes online course, group sessions and one to one support for babies and toddlers.
